Sitting Up so Good!

Caden sits up so good now! I think that all of those new Christmas toys are good motivation. They aren't so fun to play with when he is laying down.

Merry Christmas!

Caden had such a wonderful first Christmas! We are so lucky to have so much family and people who love us! Thank you to everyone for everything. Caden is loving playing with his new toys!

First Santa came to our house!

Merry Christmas Eve!

We went to my aunt and uncle's house to celebrate Christmas Eve with all of my aunts. uncles, and cousins. This has been a tradition in my family for many years, but we don't usually get to go. It was fun to see everyone! It was quite a white elephant game with 52 people!

Everyone playing the white elephant game.

Matt and I exchange presents on Christmas Eve. I got a breadmaker (I can't wait to make some yummy bread!), and Caden made me his little handprints (with a little help from Matt). I love Caden's present, and it is something that I will always treasure!

Here is Matt with all of his gifts.

Merry Christmas Eve Eve

We had so much last night celebrating Christmas with Matt's dad and Beth. Thanks for everything!

Caden opening his first Christmas present.
Grandpa with all of the grandkids!

Ewww!

I just made radioactive slime or is it green peas? I can't tell the difference. I wouldn't blame Caden if he doesn't eat this! (By the way, when I fed this to him he loved it! I think that it may now be his favorite veggie.)

6 Months Old!

I can't believe that Caden is already 6 months old! The time seems to go so fast, but it seems like he has been here forever if that makes any sense. Caden has tried all sorts of new foods this month. He has eaten sweet pototoes, acorn squash (his favorite!), butternut squash, applesauce, banana, and pears. He actually seems to like the vegetables more then the fruits. We'll see if that continues though! He has gotten really good at eating from a spoon, and he loves eating solid foods. Caden is learning how to sit up. He can stay balanced sitting up for a while, but he still leans forward for support. He can also stand up if he is holding on to something. (It's hard to find things that are the right height, but the crib is the best place in our house.) He still prefers standing to sitting. Caden likes playing with Carrot now (well if you count pulling out his fur as playing, and I'm not sure that Carrot does.), but Duke still won't let him get close enough. As far as his sleeping habits go, it would make me very happy if he would sleep through the night every night. Some night he does great and sleeps 8 or 9 hours, and some night he gets up after 4 hours. I guess that he is just a growing boy. He hasn't been to the doctor yet for his stats, so I will post them after he goes.

Family Pics

A Good Spot For a Nap

I went over to my parents to make some Christmas goodies with my mom and my sister on Friday. My dad was playing with Caden, but he was so tired that he just fell asleep sitting up. It must've been comfortable because he slept so long that my dad's leg fell asleep, and we had to move him.

Silly Puppy

Kandy got some doggles (that's right they are called doggles), so now she is ready to ride in the rail during the next dune trip. Who even knew that you could buy such a thing? I think that this is hilarious!

Does Duke Want to Try the Sweet Potaoes too?

Caden & Santa

Caden got pictures with Santa today! He wasn't too sure what to think about that Santa guy, and he kept trying to look at him. I guess that he decided that he was okay because he didn't cry.

Cool Dude

He liked wearing his uncle Mikey's sunglasses.

Troublemaker

Yesterday Caden was happily playing in the bouncer. I left the room for a minute, but when he started crying I came back in to see what he was doing. This is what I found.

This is what it used to be like when he was in the bouncer. How did he get so big?

The Decorating is Done!

Sweet Potoatoes

So I decided that I am going to make homemade baby food. It is way cheaper then buying it, it doesn't have all of the preservatives, and it's fun to make too. My first creation was sweet potatoes. I just thought that Caden would only want a taste, but he loved it. I have a ton of it though. (like 4 times the amount shown in the picture.) Maybe cousin Noah would like to try some sweet potatoes?

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a great Thanksgiving. We are lucky enough to have both of our families close by which means that we got to eat Thanksgiving dinner twice! The trick is not eating too much at either place which is hard to do with all of that yummy food. I am so grateful for my little family, and that Caden is here to share the holidays with us!

Caden Loves His Sippy Cup

He can't wait to grab it every time that he sees it. He doesn't quite get that the juice doesn't come out unless he tips it up.

It Must Be Cold in Here!

That lump under the covers is Carrot taking a nap. So much for making the bed today!

It's a Tired Baby

He was so cute snuggled up in his blanket sleeping on the couch!

Yummy!

We may need a little bit more practice at this eating thing.

5 Months Old!

Caden is growing so fast! He is already about 17lbs. He has gotten really good at rolling over from his stomach to his back. He still doesn't like tummy time, so when I put him on his stomach he doesn't stay that way for long. He can roll onto his side from his back, but that darn arm gets in the way . I love his cute laugh, and he loves to laugh at his daddy. Caden got to start eating real food this month. He doesn't really like rice cereal, but he will eat oatmeal. He has also tried prunes and pear juice which are starting to grow on him. He loves to stand up (I have to keep him balanced, but he is pretty good at supporting his own weight.)! I try to get him to sit up, but he just wants to stand all of the time. He has also found that he has feet, and he likes to grab them. He sleeps anywhere from 6 to 9 hours a night. We love our little Caden!

Caden is Ready for Christmas

Brrr . . . It's Finally Cold!

Fun With Noah

This picture was taken really fast. Caden can't sit up like that for long. We are practicing though!
