Time Out

I went in Caden's room today and I found the gingerbread man ornament in the corner.  Caden told me that he was in time out.  It totally cracked me up.

Christmas Decorations!

Caden loved decorating the Christmas tree.  As soon as I opened the box with the decorations Caden picked up the biggest glass ball, and threw it across the floor when I tried to get it from him.  After that we were careful to only let him touch the non breakable ones and put all of the others really high up on the tree, so hopefully there won't be anymore casualties this year.  He really enjoyed putting them on the tree though, and all of the ones bunched together on the bottom are Caden's doing.  I can only hope that the ornaments stay on the tree.

We also put up the lights on the outside which was quite the ordeal this year.  We had to buy some new lights this year since some of the old ones broke.  It kind of messed up our usual plan, so Matt ended up having to take them down and move them.  After he got them up for the second time, they wouldn't work because there were too many strands hooked together.  I guess that it was good that they wouldn't let us make a fire hazard.  We ended up just buying all new LED lights because tons of strands can be hooked together with no problem.  So although it took 3 tries the lights finally ending up looking awesome.

Scary Times

Our house was broken into last Friday.  They broke the glass in the french door in our bedroom and came in.  Luckily we weren't home, but we think that only missed them by a few minutes.  When we got home at 6:15pm they were gone, and had dropped a bunch of stuff in the street.  My neighbor told me that when they went out to dinner at 6pm there wasn't anything in the street.  The main things that  they took were my passport, my social security card, some of my Coach purses, and my jewelry box that had a few valuable necklaces and rings.  They dumped our dirty clothes out of our laundry basket and must've used it to carry everything.  They also stole a quilt off of my quilt rack which I assume they used to cover everything up.  That and the fact that they dropped stuff in the street makes me think that they were on foot and possibly live in the neighborhood.  Really the worst part is just feeling violated having strangers in our house and not feeling safe anymore.  We ended up putting in a security system, so I feel a little better now.  It's really sad how people can do stuff like that.

Look What I Made

It's a growth chart for Caden, and it's supposed to look like a ruler.  This was my first attempt at staining wood, so maybe it could've been a little more even.  Overall I think that it turned out pretty cute though.

Arizona State Fair

Matt won some tickets at work to go to the Arizona State Fair.  I have to admit that we don't usually go to the state fair because it's super expensive, and it doesn't usually end up being that much fun.  I hate all of those spinney rides because they make me sick!  Anyways we ended up having a blast.  Maybe it was because Caden was there to enjoy it or maybe it was just because we didn't have to pay to get in. :)

Caden had to ride the merry-go-round.

He had fun on the big slide.  I thought that maybe he would be scared, but he said that he wanted to go on it and wasn't scared at all.

We went on this little mini roller coaster that Caden hated.  At first he kept telling me "get down,"  Then he started freaking out and yelled "all done" and kept trying to get out.  Maybe we will wait awhile before we try that again.

We took a ride on the choo choo train.

We didn't actually end up riding on the Ferris wheel because it was $5 per person, but it made a good backdrop for a picture.

They were having a free monster truck show which we thought Caden was going to love since he is obsessed with trucks.  At first he was excited about it.

When the show actually started Caden was freaking out because it was so loud, and we had to leave after like 10 minutes.

Tractors are the next best thing to big trucks according to Caden.

We also went to the livestock barn to check out all of the animals.  Caden got to pet a bunny

and a whole lot of goats.

The kangaroo was pretty cool.  He was really fast jumping all over the place.

I thought that these little goats were so cute.

Trick or Treat

Caden and Max went trick or treating around our neighborhood.  Mikey and Christina came too with Christina's niece and nephew.  It was really fun this year because he understood what was going on, and he was excited to run up to the houses.  I think that Caden was a little hot in his costume, and we had to stop trick or treating when Caden took off his shirt and wouldn't put it back on.  His bucket was almost full of candy though, so he did pretty good.
