Flying a Kite!

I picked up a kite a couple of weeks ago as an impulse buy and today was the perfect windy day to fly it!

Matt and Caden getting it up in the air.

Caden kept it up by himself.

He was better at it then I was.

What fun would flying a kite be if it didn't get caught in a tree?  I can't say that I was feeling very confident about Matt climbing the tree, but we did get the kite down in one piece.

The Park Again!

We went to a fun park with Noah, Delilah, and Josefine that we've never been to before.

Noah calls it the Spiderman park because he can climb the "web" like Spiderman.

He is quite the climber too.  It was making me a little nervous!

Delilah was a busy girl trying to climb up on the play equipment and putting everything in her mouth that she could get her hands on including leaves, rocks, and sticks.  She keeps Josefine on her toes!

Caden and Noah liked racing each other down the slides.

Caden loves the swings, and it's always a fight to get him off of them.  There aren't many parks with swings around here, so this was pretty fun for him.

Mmmmm Cookies

This is how Caden makes cookies.

He asked for milk so he already knows that cookies go good with milk.  He even likes to dip them in like daddy does.

Soccer!

We were thinking about signing Caden up to play soccer throught the town of Gilbert, but it was pretty expensive for only a few weeks plus we weren't sure how much that he would really get out of it just because he is still pretty little.  Matt decided that he would make his own soccer class, so we bought some goals and a couple of balls.  Then we invited some of friends with 2 and 3 year olds to come and play.  It actually turned out to be really fun, and we had 9 kids come this week.

Caden "helping" Matt set up.

Kicking the ball.

Matt had the kids line up and take turn kicking the ball into the net.  Caden wasn't too excited to wait in line or share his ball, but that's why we are practicing right?

I think that he thought that it was just as much fun to run with the ball as it was to kick it.  Maybe we will have to do football next. :)

Taking a break after the game with Noah and Delilah.

Softball

Matt is playing in a softball league with Bart and some other people from US Airways.  After 2 weeks they are 3-1.  It's fun for him to get back into playing sports after taking almost a year off since having his hip surgery.

 Matt up at bat.

Bart up at bat.

We also brought our own super cute cheerleaders!  Josefine couldn't come to the game since Delilah was sick, and I was a little nervous at first because these two wild boys were running all over the place.  Luckily, they calmed down after a little bit.

One of Our Favorite Places to Shop

Caden always likes to go to Old Navy, so he can pet the dog manequin that is on display.

Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium

Matt was off work on Monday, so we decided to check out the Wildlife World Zoo.  It's a bit of a drive for us, but we heard that it was fun so we'd been wanting to check it out.

You can tell by the look on his face what Caden thought about touching the sting rays.

He did like the starfish though.

They had a really fun petting zoo with turtles

and the cutest baby goats ever.  They also had alpacas and deer in the petting zoo. I was excited to pet the deer, but they just kept trying to eat our clothes.  We were lucky that we didn't have any holes in our clothes when we left!

Caden was so excited to ride the train!

On the train we got to see some animals from Africa that were not behind any cages or anything.  There wasn't anything too scary except for a vulture that tried to get Matt's arm.  Luckily he missed and just got the side of the train.

It was so crazy how close that you could get to the animals.

I think that this was the highlight for Caden because all that he talked about the whole time was seeing the Zebras.

Just to prove that I was there too. :)

All of the animals hang out close to the fence because that is where they are fed.  It works out really good because then we were able to see everything up close.  Caden was a little scared of the huge Rhino and didn't want to get too close!

Big Crocodile!

This alpaca was sticking his head over the fence like he wanted to be petted.  I tried to pet him, but I chickened out because it looked like he was getting a little annoyed.

Caden likes the Emu from seeing him in one of his animal books.  This one came right over to see us, but he was actually making me a little nervous because he was so close.

We got to see the Lion really close up.  Besides the chain link fence there was only a short wood fence separating us from her.  At the Phoenix Zoo we never even get to see the Lions because they are so far away.

Checking out the lazy Kangaroos.  We thought that they would be jumping around, but they just laid there.

Fun At The Park

We met up with Josefine, Noah, and Delilah at the park today.  The boys always have fun playing together!

Check out the huge fish!

Caden was quite the climber today.  I was a little surprised because he is usually too scared to climb up by himself.

Happy Birthday Max and Sarah!

We celebrated Max and Sarah's birthdays while they were here.

My mom made yummy flautas and bean dip.

Max loved the birthday cake that I made.  It was chocolate with homemade cream cheese frosting.  That frosting is so good!

Max opening his presents.

Sarah opening her presents.

Caden was sad that Max had all of the presents to open, and he didn't have any.  My mom was so nice and gave him his Valentine's Day present early.  He got Minnie and Mickey Pez dispensers and this funny lips sucker.

By the end of the night my dad had had enough of the two rowdy boys so he locked them in Kandy's cage. (Really they thought that it was funny to lock themselves in there.  That's what the picture looks like though.)
