Matt was off work on Monday, so we decided to check out the Wildlife World Zoo. It's a bit of a drive for us, but we heard that it was fun so we'd been wanting to check it out.
You can tell by the look on his face what Caden thought about touching the sting rays.
He did like the starfish though.
They had a really fun petting zoo with turtles
and the cutest baby goats ever. They also had alpacas and deer in the petting zoo. I was excited to pet the deer, but they just kept trying to eat our clothes. We were lucky that we didn't have any holes in our clothes when we left!
Caden was so excited to ride the train!
On the train we got to see some animals from Africa that were not behind any cages or anything. There wasn't anything too scary except for a vulture that tried to get Matt's arm. Luckily he missed and just got the side of the train.
It was so crazy how close that you could get to the animals.
I think that this was the highlight for Caden because all that he talked about the whole time was seeing the Zebras.
Just to prove that I was there too. :)
All of the animals hang out close to the fence because that is where they are fed. It works out really good because then we were able to see everything up close. Caden was a little scared of the huge Rhino and didn't want to get too close!
Big Crocodile!
This alpaca was sticking his head over the fence like he wanted to be petted. I tried to pet him, but I chickened out because it looked like he was getting a little annoyed.
Caden likes the Emu from seeing him in one of his animal books. This one came right over to see us, but he was actually making me a little nervous because he was so close.
We got to see the Lion really close up. Besides the chain link fence there was only a short wood fence separating us from her. At the Phoenix Zoo we never even get to see the Lions because they are so far away.
Checking out the lazy Kangaroos. We thought that they would be jumping around, but they just laid there.
