Carrot

We are very sad to say that our kitty Carrot passed away on February 15th.  He was a scardy cat,  but he was such a sweet boy.  He loved sitting right next to us and always wanted lots of attention.  He always loved flowers, and you could always find him trying to get a drink wherever there was water running.  We aren't really sure what happened because even though he was 10 1/2 years old, but he seemed to be in good health.  This has been so sad for us, but we are so grateful to have had him as part of our family.  He will be missed.

Texas

We went to visit my sister Sarah and her family in Texas.

We got to be there for Max's birthday party.

Madelyn loved the frosting on the cupcakes. :) She kept trying to eat the bird poop on the bench because she thought it was more frosting. It was so funny/disgusting!

We played at the park and climbed trees.

We went to the children's museum.

My brother-in-law is a police officer, so Caden thought it would be fun to "arrest" Matt with real handcuffs.

3 cuties! We were sad to go home!

Carlsbad Caverns

Last week we went to visit my sister Sarah and her family in Texas, and we stopped at Carlsbad Caverns on the way.  It's only a few hours from Sarah's house, so they met us there too.  We only went on the big room tour because we had the kids, but it was really cool. It was about 850 ft underground. The cave was huge, and it had all of these really neat formations and really deep cliffs.  The temperature is a constant 55 to 60 degrees no matter how hot or cold it is outside.

The boys completed these workbooks and got to be junior rangers with a badge and everything.  They were so excited about it!

Science Center

I bought a 4 person pass for the Arizona Science Center from Groupon, so we went and Caden got to bring his friend Reagan too.  I don't know how much they got about the science, but they did have fun playing!

This was Caden's favorite part.  It made gross stomach digesting sounds and farted when you went down the slide. Reagan hated it though.  It's funny how boys and girls are different.

Seeing how erosion works.

This was a really cool screen that interacted with your body when you stood in front of it.

We got to see how much energy it took to light up different light bulbs.  The led were so easy to light up!

Facials

Caden loves having a facial!

Happy Valentine's Day!

This year for Valentine's Day we had fun making Valentine's for each other.

I made this fun rocket valentine for Caden that he LOVED!

I made this Valentine for Matt,

and Caden made this for Matt.

This is what Caden got me.  He picked out the frame and the picture.  I love it!  Matt also got me some See's candy, but that was all eaten before I could take a picture. :)

Fry's Tour

We went on a tour at our local Fry's that was set up by my sister-in-law's friend.  Caden was supposed to have a play date with his friend Porter that day, so we brought him along too.  According to the boys the top 3 things were:
1. Going in the walk in freezer (It was so cold that you couldn't hardly breathe!),
2.  Petting the lobster.
3.  The free balloon.

Cute boys with their balloons.

Caden and Porter were the only ones brave enough to touch the lobster.

They gave a great snack of turkey, string cheese, cuties, and the much anticipated cookie.

They also got to practice their cashiering  skills.

Kids Club

We went to the Kids Club at Superstition Mall last week.  I previously tried to avoid it because of the craziness, but I figures that Caden is old enough to wait in line now.  It actually was really good.  He got bored of the presentation after awhile, but he loved he Chick fil a and the carousel ride.  I think that next time we are going to see the free movie at the theaters there too.

Sea Life Aquarium

We bought this thing called a pogo pass this year that gets us into all sorts of places for free.  It's really a great deal, and we used it for the first time at Sealife Aquarium.  Caden had fun seeing all of the animals.  We especially liked the sharks and the big sea turtle.  It reminded me of Hawaii. :) (Well not the sharks just the turtle.)

"Swimming" with the fish.

Surrounded by water (and sharks!).

 Petting a lobster.
