Play Date

Caden has already made a friend at school, and he came over to our house for a play date.  They sit next to each other in class, and we discovered that he lives in our neighborhood.  They even get to ride the bus together.

Lunch

I volunteered at Caden's lunch three times last week.  This is Caden and my cousin Darren's little girl.  They are in the same class.  The kindergartners needed lots of help opening packages and buying lunch, and I needed to make sure that my baby was okay.  (He was of course.)  I think that  I may only go once this week . . .

First Day of Kindergarten

Caden's first day of kindergarten was on the 21st.  He was so excited to go, and the week before he kept telling me that "it was talking too long for the first day of school to get here."

I was a little nervous about the bus, but he really wanted to ride it.  Here he is waiting at the bus stop.

Getting on the bus!

Getting off the bus at school.  Okay so we did drive to the school and meet the bus there to make sure that Caden knew what to do once he got off.  I was only planning on doing that the first day, but Caden wanted me to keep coming.  I ended up meeting him at school the first three days.  I was having a hard time letting him go too.

Off to class on the first day!  So this was a lot harder for me then I thought it would be.  I was really sad, and I cried a little the first day.  It is still strange being home by myself, and I always feel like I am missing something when I run errands.  I am just glad that he likes it!

Meet the Teacher

We went to meet the teacher at Caden's school a couple of weeks ago.  He was a little shy when he actually met his teacher, but he was so happy to sit at his desk.

The IDEA Museum

We went to the IDEA museum in Mesa a couple of weeks ago.  It had lots of hands on crafts to do and also a big play area.  Caden isn't into crafts too much, but he loved the play area.

San Diego

We went on a little family vacation to San Diego this weekend.  The weather was awesome! It was in the 70's everyday, and it was so nice to not be roasted every time that we went outside!

This was at Seaport Village with the big warships in the background.

We also went on the Duck tour which can go on the land,

or the sea.  Caden thought that was pretty awesome!

We got to see some Sea Lions up close, and we learned so much about the San Diego Bay.  Did you know that it only used to be 8 ft deep, and they dug it down to 60 ft deep to accommodate the navy ships?  All of the extra sand was piled up and made into Shelter Island, and it changed the waterline to be much lower.  The navy also trains Sea Lions and  Dolphins there to detect things and retrieve things under the water.

We went to La Jolla cove to check out all of the Sea Lions that hang out there.

Then we hung our for the day at La Jolla Shores beach.

Silly Boys

We went over to play at Janeille and Matthias' house, and Kaylee had the boys dressed up as girls.  They weren't complaining though.  It was pretty funny.

Uh oh

Caden was dying to ride on this spinning thing on the carousel at Superstition Springs mall.  Well he finally got his chance, and it make him feel so sick.  He told me that he is never riding on it again.  I guess that he is taking after me with the motion sickness. :(

Happy 4th of July!

We rode our bikes to a greenbelt in our neighborhood to watch the fireworks that are set off at Central Christian Church.  We have the best spot and no traffic!

Then we set off fireworks at our house.  My parents, Mikey, Christina, and some of Christina's family came over for the fun.

Mesquite Groves

We also went swimming at Mesquite Groves while Sarah was visiting.  I generally try to avoid that place in the summer because it's usually packed, but it actually wasn't too bad.  The kids love to go there!  We are also proud of Caden for conquering his fear of the diving board!
