Bye Bart and Josefine!

Matt's brother and his wife have been visiting from Sweden for the last 3 weeks. I have to admit that I have been a slacker about taking pictures, but thanks to Matt we did get a few pics on the last night that they were here. It was great to see them, and we are sad that they are already going home. We can't wait until they come back, at the end of the year, and we get to meet their baby. He will only be a month older then our baby, and hopefully they will be good friends when they get a little bigger!

The Baby is Moving!

I've been feeling the baby moving for the last couple of weeks! At first I wasn't really sure, but it felt different then anything I've felt before. Now I feel it a lot more often, and it's a lot stronger. It's such a neat feeling, and it's reassuring that everything is okay every time that I feel it! Yesterday I drank Dr. Pepper, and the baby was moving around like crazy. Apparently it is going to take after it's daddy. (I can 't wait until the 18th when I won't have to call the baby "it" anymore!!)

Free Stuff

So I am getting really excited about all of this free stuff! Here is all of the free stuff that I got on Friday: 2 packages of Hebrew National Hot Dogs, 2 loaves of Sara Lee bread, 2 packages of Hilshire Farms ultra thin lunch meat, 1 Tombstone Pizza, and 1 Tostitos Bean Dip. That's not too bad for one day of shopping, plus there were lots of other things that I could've gotten for free if I had all of the coupons. Today I am going to Fry's for free mustard, bbq sauce, hot wing sauce, and soft soap! I also signed up for a free subscription to Women's Day magazine. Who knew that there was so much free stuff out there?

Bargain Shopping

Thanks to my sister-in-law, Amy, I am officially trying to be a bargain shopper. She always tells me about all of the free stuff that she gets, so I decided that it's time to give it a try. Today I bought some Revlon make up and Orajel medicine from Walgreens, and I should be receiving a gift card rebate for the total amount I spent plus 10%. Walgreens has different items everything month that are free after rebate. I can buy the next month's items with my gift card, and I'll get free stuff every month without spending anything else out of pocket. It's a good start! Now I have to start collecting coupons. If you want to start doing this yourself check out the link to Bargain Moms on my blog list. You'll find lots of great tips. Best of all - it's free!! Happy bargain shopping!

Baby Update

I had a doctor's appointment today, and everything is good with the baby. The heartbeat is strong and in the 160's. We also scheduled the ultrasound to find out what we are having. It's not until February 18th, so we still have 4 weeks left to wait. I can't wait to find out so that I can start decorating!

Vegas Baby!

We had the opportunity to go to Las Vegas for free (Well almost. Everything free except spending money and food.) thanks to my boss. She had an offer for 2 free nights at the Venetian that she let us use. Our room was a suite! It had 2 bathrooms! The maid came twice a day to clean the room and leave chocolates on our pillows at night. It had 3 plasma TVs. Actually I think that it may have been bigger then our first house.
Here is the bedroom

and the sitting area.

We also went to Ghirardellis and had yummy chocolate shakes.

Last but not least, what's a trip to Vegas without a stop at the outlet stores?

Cute Duke

Duke is very much enjoying the window perches that Grandma Shobe gave him for Christmas. He has claimed both of them as his own. I guess that Carrot will have to fight him if he wants to sit up there too. Duke has also learned that the window perch on the right side gives him just the right leverage to hang from the curtains. Hmm, that's something that we'll have to work on or the he'll only have one perch to sit on.

Date Night

On Friday night Matt and I had a date night, and we went to Dave and Buster's at Tempe Marketplace. We haven't really been out in a long time just because I've been so tired and feeling icky, but I am actually feeling like a normal person again! I almost forgot what it is like! We had fun playing games and acting like kids again. I even beat Matt twice at the game where you roll the ball in the holes to make the horses race. (You know, that game that is usually at the fair.) The best part is, I stayed awake later then 7:30! (I know it's sad, but I can't help it.)

Happy New Year!

I hope that everyone has a happy new year! My resolution this year is to have a healthy pregnancy and not gain a ton of weight. I am going to work out regularly and try to make healthier food choices.

Dunes Trip!

Last weekend we went to the dunes, in Glamis California, with my parents. My dad goes fairly often all winter long, but I hadn't been since I was a kid. Matt had lots of fun riding in the sand rail. I only got to take a short ride around the camp, and other then that I just mostly hung out and relaxed. Maybe after the baby is here we can go again, and I'll get to go on a real ride. We did go and visit the sand drags where people like to race their rails. They were pretty crazy! My dad said that some of them go 100 mph. It was freezing cold, but at least we got to enjoy the fire.
