Playdate

Caden had two friends from school over yesterday.  He always talks about Porter and Teagan, and they were so excited to be play together outside of school.  They are so cute!  I am glad that Caden is making such good friends!

Mustache Monday

It was mustache Monday at Caden's school this week.  I have to say that I am pretty pleased with my mustache drawing considering that I have no artistic talent whatsoever.  I did cheat a little, and I watched a video of how to draw a mustache on youtube. :)

The Park!

The weather finally started cooling off, and it is perfect in the mornings!  We were so excited to be able to play at the park this week!

Cheesecake!

Caden and I were bored last week.  I was craving cheesecake, and so we made one.

Toy hammers are the perfect tool for smashing up graham crackers for the crust!

Ready for the oven.

Mmmm! It turned out really yummy!

Police Station Tour

I joined a Facebook group where a mom sets up different activities for preschoolers to do, and this week we got to go on a tour at the Chandler Police Department.  Caden was so excited to go!

He got this sticker badge, and he actually wore it all day long.  Usually stickers last for about 5 seconds. He was actually sad to take it off at the end of the day, so we had to hang it up on the bulletin board in his room.

We got to see the jail which is actually just a holding area until they are moved somewhere else.  The cells were tiny with only a little bench to sit on.

The highlight for Caden was definitely seeing the police car.

He even got to sit in the back.  (This was a new car so hopefully it was clean!  I did find my germophobia emerging when he got in the back!)  I thought that it was interesting that in the newer police cars the backseats are all made out of hard plastic and are not comfortable at all.

We also go to see where the detectives work, the crime lab, the shooting range  and the 911 dispatch area which is where 911 calls in Chandler are routed to.   Overall it was very interesting, and we had a lot of fun.  Caden is now telling me that he wants to be a police officer when he grows up.

Playdate Again!

Porter came over to play again, and Caden went and played at his house last week.  We are actually going to switching off play dates every Wednesday, so Caden is super excited about that.  He loves to play with Porter.  As soon as he gets up he starts bugging about when Porter is coming over or when he gets to go to Porter's. (I don't love that so much!)

Another Prize!

Caden filled up his prize jar again (as pictured in his hands), and this time he picked out this Power Rangers costume.  He is currently obsessed with Power Rangers, and he pretends to be a Power Ranger all of the time (costume on or not).  The jar was filled up very quickly this time, so I think that I am going to have to make it a little harder to fill up!  At this rate we will soon have a closet full of  superhero dress up clothes.

Labor Day

On Labor Day we drove up to Payson with all of Matt's family.  Our intent was to go to Fossil Springs, but by the time we got there it was already at capacity.  We just ended up going to the East Verde River.  We had a picnic, and did some swimming.  I was a little skeptical because the water looked muddy, but it was actually pretty fun.
We did some "cliff" jumping.  I use the term cliff fairly loosely.  Caden was actually not scared of the jumping in, but he did not want to go in the muddy water.  He is a crazy kid!  I will also brag that I was the only woman there to swim over and go cliff jumping.

We also found a rope swing when we hiked down the river a little ways.  The boys all loved this, and we were even impressed when Matt's dad did the rope swing.

Caden and Cannon playing in the water.  The water was freezing by the way!

Go Dbacks!

Friday night we decided to go to the Diamondbacks game again since it was 80's night, and they were also going to have a bunch of characters there.  We thought that Caden would love to see the superheros.  Unfortunately we didn't see any superheros.  It was still fun though, and they had fireworks at the end.  I will say that there was some pretty good music from the 80's, and I may need to add some songs to my playlist!  Every time that we see the light rail Caden always wants to ride it, so we parked at the park and ride and rode the light rail to the game.  Caden loved every minute of it.  We even got to stand up for the drive back since it was so packed.  He is so funny!

Playdate

Porter, Caden's friend from school, came over to play on Friday.  They were so cute, and they loved playing all of the same things.  Caden is always so excited to see him at school, and he was super excited to have him over to our house!
