JJ and Kaylee

Matt and I watched JJ and Kaylee from Saturday morning until Sunday night just to give Janielle and Matthias a break. We had lots of fun! On Saturday morning Matt and JJ went mini golfing while Kaylee and I went to a baby shower and a bridal shower.

JJ loves playing foosball.

JJ shot hoops at Chuck E Cheese.

JJ and Kaylee posed with Chuck E Cheese.

Shh! Kaylee is sleeping! (and I was tired too!)

Lake Tahoe

On Saturday morning we didn't have anything to do so we called up Matt's mom to see if she wanted to go to Lake Tahoe with us. I love Lake Tahoe! It is so beautiful there. We only stayed for one night, but we got to get away from the heat for a little while. The high was 65 degrees and the low was 28 degrees. It was a little chilly!

Matt and I were hanging out on the pier watching the sun set and we noticed that these birds that were really far out were actually walking around and not swimming. The water was really shallow for a long ways out, so I decided to see how far that I could walk out without getting my clothes all wet. By the time that I made it all the way out there my feet were numb! The temperture outside was probably in the fifties, so you can imagine how cold that the water was!

We went on a hike to this place called Eagle Lake. The only way to get there was hiking, so there weren't a lot of people around. It was so beautiful and peaceful.

Here is me, Matt, and Jolene with Emerald Bay in the background.

Matt's Dad is Cancer Free!!!

Matt's dad went to the doctor yesterday to get the final results after the chemo treatments. We were all excited to find out that he is now cancer free! It has been a long road for him, but all of his hard work has paid off. He even got to ring the bell at the doctor's office to signify that his cancer is gone. We are all so grateful! We all got together today to swim and bbq and celebrate the great news.

Here We Go Again . . .

So after taking a break for the last year, we have decided to do invitro again. We have 2 frozen embryos left, so this is our last chance without having to do another egg harvest. The frozen embryo transfer is really not that bad. Just a few doctors appointments, lots of pills, and a few days of bedrest. If everything goes according to plan, the scheduled date is October 14th, and we will know if it worked on October 24th. We are going to be having a fast on Sunday October 12th, so we would love it if you will remember us during your fast on that day. Thanks for all of your prayers and support, and remember to keep your fingers crossed!

Go Dbacks! . . . Again

We went to the Diamondbacks game again on Saturday night with Janeille, Matthias, Jeremiah, Kaylee, Andy, Austin, and Carter. According to Matt, our seats were so high up that if the top would've been open we could've stuck our heads outside. Let's just say that we had a bird's eye view of the whole field. We got free Eric Byrnes' hats (hence the blond hair). I don't think that Kaylee had very much fun because every time people started cheering she started crying. Unfortunately the Diamonbacks lost.

Vegas!!

Yesterday I was itching for a new purse, ( I love purses. What can I say?) so we decided to go to Vegas. We flew there in the afternoon for a little bit of shopping at the outlets, and of course we had to make a quick stop at the casino. We hung out at the Excaliber for about an hour and a half, and then we caught the last flight home at about 9:45 pm. It was a quick trip, but what the heck? It was fun!

Good Times With The Kids

A few weeks ago we were at Matt's mom's house and Amy was getting mad at the kids for something. Matt thought that she was being too hard on them, but she said that she'd like to see him take care of all four kids for a few days and see how it was then. Of course Matt is never one to turn down a challenge, so we offered to watch the kids for Amy and Andy's anniversary. It was kind of funny because we just ended up switching houses. They stayed at our house, and we went to their house to watch the kids. We arrived at their house on Saturday morning around 10:30. We ate lunch at McDonald's (we had to play at the placeplace of course!), and then we went to play in the water at Tempe Beach Park. Hadley had a lot of fun going down the slide. Ashlyn was a little nervous because it went pretty fast, but Hadley was fearless. After an afternoon nap (unfortunately not an afternoon nap for me), we went to Peter Piper Pizza. The kids had lots of fun playing all of the games, and we left with a few prizes. Earlier in the day I had promised Austin that we could get ice cream, so we went to Coldstone Creamery (Peanut Butter Cup Perfection . . . yummy!!). We rented a couple of movies, and the kids wanted everyone to sleep on the floor in the family room. I think Hadley was the only smart one because when we got up in the morning we found that she had went to sleep in her bed sometime during the night. On Sunday, we just hung out at the house until Andy and Amy got home around 2pm. We had lots of fun, but I have to say that Amy was right that it can be challenging at times (and we were only there for 27 and 1/2 hours. Who was counting right?). Did I mention that I forgot to bring my camera? I was a little bit disappointed about that.

Twilight!

I just finished reading the complete Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. Can I just say that these are the best books that I have ever read. I don't usually like to read books more then one time, but I've read them twice. (except the last one I've only read once because it just came out.) I even had to buy them. They are about a vampire named Edward that falls in love with a human named Bella. (I know vampires??) Seriously, you should read it if you haven't all ready. Once you start reading you won't be able to put them down! I read the whole series in five days.

Go D-Backs!

We went to the Diamondbacks game last night with Janeille, Matthias, Jeremiah, Andy, and Austin. We didn't all get to sit together, but Matt got the tickets for free from his work. Andy and Austin had great seats on the lower level right behind home plate. The rest of us can't really complain though because we got to sit in the club seats. Jeremiah practiced hitting the ball, with his bat, whenever anyone on the field was pitching. He was really excited when a ball actually came our way. In the picture he was crying because he wanted to go out and play on the field with the team. Maybe in a few years!! The Diamondbacks crushed the Pittsburgh Pirates 13 to 7.

Hangin' Out With Family

Matt, Me, and Hadley.
Matt's Dad and Kaylee with us.
Grandpa and Grandma Mendonca
Rick and us. (That's Carter in the background.)

Matt's Grandpa and Grandma Mendonca, his uncle Rick, and his cousin Julianne came to visit from California. Last night we went over to Amy's house to have dinner and hang out with them. Matt's mom made Thankgsgiving Dinner. Yummy! It was fun to be able to see them and hang out. We should all get together more often!
