2 Year Stats

Caden went to the doctor for his 2 year check up on the 23rd.  He is 29.8 lbs (75%) and 35.5 in (75%).  The doctor said that he is growing really good.  Caden is learning new words everyday, and he will put 2 or 3 words together sometimes.  It is so exciting that he is learning to talk and communicate better!  He can count to 3, but a lot of times he skips the 1 and just says "2,3."  We are working on learning colors, and his favorite characters from the Cars movie are the brown car (mater) and the red car (Mcqueen) as he refers to them.  He has also gotten pretty feisty lately and has been throwing lots of temper tantrums.  I guess that is to be expected.  Caden no longer sits in a high chair, and he sleeps in his big boy bed.  It's a little bittersweet for me that he is growing up because he is still my baby.  Caden loves basketball, and he even liked watching it with Matt.  Too bad that basketball season is over (I never thought that I would say that!) because it was so cute.  He even cheered and yelled "Oh yeah" every time that a basket was made.  One day he pointed at the tv and said "tv basketball" because he wanted to watch basketball.  He is definitely taking after his dad.  Caden also loves Elmo, and every morning he tells me "watch Elmo" because he wants to watch Sesame Street.  He also likes to say that things are cute.  The other day, after I just got dressed, he looked at me and said "cute."  He is really the sweetest little boy ever when he's not throwing tantrums.

Happy 2nd Birthday Part 3!

Today was Caden's actual birthday, so we had lots of fun all day!

Matt was in Charlotte for a business trip.  Luckily he caught an early flight home, and was able to spend the rest of the day with us.  He brought Caden this cute Duke bear.  Caden has been carrying it around all day, and calling it Baby Duke. (He calls his stuffed animals babies.)  I'm pretty sure that this is now his new favorite.

For his birthday present we did his big boy room (with some help from my parents and Grandma Shobe!), but we got him a little something to open on his birthday.  It's the Toy Story 3 movie.

Caden said that he wanted pizza for lunch, so we headed to Costco. Mmmm

After taking his super cute pictures (which you already saw), and taking a nap we went to this really fun place called Jump Street with Mikey and Christina.  Caden was a little nervous about this big slide at first, but he loved it after the first time.

These slides were only for kids under 7, but we all had to have a turn.  It was super fun!  Shhh!! Don't tell!!  Actually no one really seemed to care.  Here is Matt,

 me and Caden,

 Mikey,

and Christina.

Jumping on the trampoline with Matt.

 Climbing the stairs.

That's right I've still got it.  Doing flips on the trampoline.

We were all really thirsty afterwards!

Caden & Mikey

Caden loves to see his Uncle Mikey.  They were so cute reading together yesterday.

Visit From the LeSueurs

Sarah, Steve, and Max came for a short visit on their way to a family reunion in Utah.  It was good to see them.  The boys just love each other so much, and they are so cute playing together.  Caden keeps saying Max's name.  I wish that they lived closer!

They thought that getting up and down and jumping on the bed was great fun.

They played in the little pool at my parents house.

We went to Arizona Mills, and they had a blast riding the carousel.  They both cried for more when it was over.

Happy 2nd Birthday Part 2

We celebrated Caden's birthday with my family on Friday.  We went out to dinner and then came back to our house for a yummy Cars cake and presents.

Happy 2nd Birthday Part 1

We celebrated Caden's 2nd birthday with Matt's family on Saturday.  Caden's cousin Noah was also turning 2, and his other cousin Cannon was turning 1.  We had a joint party at Chuck E Cheese.  It was the first time that Caden has ever been to Chuck E Cheese, and he loved it of course.

He especially liked riding in every single car.

He played some basketball with a little help from daddy.

He also figured out how to master ski ball for maximum tickets.

Amy made this super cute cake.

This was the crazy chaotic part of the party with 3 little boys opening presents. :)

Caden's Big Boy Room

I decided to make Caden's big boy room for his upcoming birthday present.  I found a really cute bed on craiglist, so my parents helped me go and pick it up.  When we got it home we decided to put it together.  We are getting rid of the guest room, and making that room Caden's new room.

Caden had to "help" take down the old bed.  It was so cute.  He is always such a good helper.

I am going to slowly transition him to his big bed starting with naps.  When I put him down in it today he went right to sleep with no problem.   I was excited about doing his room, but it's bittersweet to see him sleeping in there.  It means that he is getting way too big, and I was really sad today.  By the way his room isn't totally done, but I will post pictures when it is.

Texas

We went to Texas to visit Sarah, Steve, and Max.  It was so cute to see the boys play together!  Every morning as soon as Caden woke up he started asking for Max.  He even did if for a couple of days after we were home.

The boys had so much fun playing at the bounce place.  Caden of course loved the basketball.

Caden and Max playing basketball together.

We were pretty impressed when Max and Caden went down this big slide.  Caden was a little apprehensive, so it took a while for him to go.  Max loved the slides and went down with no problem.

Then Max decided that he wanted to go down this huge slide.  I don't think that the picture really does it justice, but it was really really big!  Caden ended up going down too, but only on his stomach.  I was surprised that they weren't scared.  After the first time, they both went down a bunch of times.

Max loves the park, so we had to go every morning.

Usually when Caden sees a slide he heads the other way. but I guess that he decided that they aren't so bad after having some much fun at the bounce place.

The boys also had a blast playing in Max's little pool.

Sunflowers!

My sunflowers all started blooming.  Some of them are taller then the house, and a lot taller then Matt!
