Sleepover!

We are so happy that the LeSueurs are here to visit from Texas!  Caden had a sleepover with Max yesterday at Grandma Nancy and Papa's house, and tonight Max is staying over at our house.

Caden's Friend Party

We had Caden's friend party on Saturday because his cousins from Texas were going to be here to celebrate too! We also had another special guest: Captain America!  He signed autographs, took pictures, and played some games with the kids.  It was so cute!

Caden's 5 Year Pictures

He is so darn cute that I had to post them all! :) Disregard the one with me though.  These were taken at 7am, and I wasn't even dressed yet.

Arizona Natural History Museum

We went to the Arizona Natural History Museum with the Cole's today.  The kids loved the huge dinosaurs!

Happy 5th Birthday!!

Happy 5th birthday to my sweet boy!  We are so thankful to be his parents!!  We celebrated on the actual day with breakfast, cake, and presents.

Birthday Dinner

Caden picked Red Robin for his birthday dinner, and we went tonight since his birthday is on Sunday.

He was so happy when they were singing to him!

Who Needs Olives?

When you can have raspberries?  Don't you remember putting olives on your fingers like this when you were a kid?  I'm not the only one who used to do that right?

Birthday Party!

Caden and two of his cousins Noah and Cannon all have birthdays within a week of each other, so we like to have a joint birthday party with swimming and pizza!  We were sad that Noah couldn't be there is year because they moved to Sweden.

Bowling

We did a little family bowling the other night.  Caden may or may not have beat my score on the last game. :)  Matt on the other is pretty good.

Bread and Butter

I've been wanting to try and make some homemade butter, so we gave it a try.

All you have to do is add whipping cream to your mixer and mix on high until it looks like this.  Then you squeeze out all of the liquid and run it under cold water.

It ends up looking like this and it tasted exactly like butter from the store.  I really couldn't tell a difference.  It did cost more to make it then I pay for butter at the grocery store, so I probably won't be buying whipping cream just to make butter.

I wasn't planning on making bread, but once I had fresh butter I decided that I needed some homemade bread to go with it. :)

Playing with Ice

I froze little toys and odds and ends from the junk drawer in water.  The preparation took a little time because I had to freeze them in layers, so the toys would be evenly distributed.  Then I filled up a spray bottle and bowl with warm water, and Caden melted the ice to try and get out all of the toys.  This actually kept him entertained for about an hour!

Fun!

We like to do lots of stuff using baking soda and vinegar because Caden loves anything that explodes!  I put drops of food coloring in a pan and covered it with baking soda.  Then Caden squirted vinegar in it using a syringe to reveal all of the colors.  I love the third picture showing how excited he was!
