Birthday Countdown

Caden kept asking how many days until his birthday, so we made this countdown chain.  It has worked like a charm!

Preschool Graduation

Caden is all done with preschool, and he will be starting Kindergarten in the fall.  It makes me so sad to think of him going to school all day!  I am so thankful for wonderful friends that Caden and I both made with his classmates and their moms!

Sleepover!

We had a sleepover with 4 of Caden's cousins.  Caden loves to have his cousins over!  Addysen is only 2 months old and she slept from 9pm to 6:30am!

They all wanted to hold the baby, so I had to take a picture with each of taking a turn.

Nobody wanted to wear shirts to bed.

Raspberry Jam

Caden and I made some homemade raspberry jam.  Yum!

Caden Ate a Hamburger!

This may not seem like a big deal, but it was actually a momentous occasion for us.  Caden is a very picky eater, and he would not eat any kind of read meat.  He has been getting much more adventurous lately and trying lots of new things.

Trucks!

Caden loves to watch the different trucks that come in our neighborhood.  He knows that the Recycling truck comes on Mondays and the garbage truck comes on Fridays.  We also get the street sweeper every once in a while and the bulk pick up comes once a month.  The bulk pick up is fun because they use a tractor to pick everything up and put it into the big garbage truck.

Out For a Drive

Caden got this car for Christmas a year and a half ago, but he was always too scared to drive it.  Eventually the battery stopped working, so we just stopped trying to get him to drive it.  Well I decided to get a new battery, and I was thinking that I would probably just sell it since it takes up so much room in the garage. After I put the new battery in he decided that he wanted to drive it, and he loved it!

Swimming!

Our friends the Davis' invited us over to bbq and swim.  We love to swim!  Caden is turning into quite the fish this year.  He is swimming awesome, and you can't get him out of the water!

Corn Patch

Matt and Caden planted this little corn patch in our backyard.  We are excited to eat some fresh picked corn!

Happy 12th Anniversary!

Today is our 12th anniversary!  We celebrated on Friday by going to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and we went to the National Comedy Theater.  It was a fun improv show.  I am so thankful to have married Matt.  He is my best friend and the most amazing husband ever!  He is always so thoughtful and caring!  I love you!

M&M Experiment

 Caden and I did an experiment on removing the m from and m&m.  If you put them in water the candy shell dissolves first so the m ends up just floating at the top of the water by itself.  It was pretty cool.  We also noticed that some colors dissolved faster than others.

Library

Caden and I love to go to the library!  He likes to play games on the computer there and pick out some books.  Do you notice the theme in the books that he picked out?

Happy Mother's Day!

I had the best mother's day today!  Caden got me a waffle maker, and then they made waffles, bacon, and hash browns.  It was so yummy!  Then they spoiled me rotten the rest of the day.  I am so lucky to be Caden's mom and to be married to Matt!

Fry's Tour

We went on a tour at Fry's with our preschool group.  The kids got really good goodies at each section of the store.  In the produce are they each got a bowl of cut up fruit.  In the deli they got to snack on a deli tray with turkey, cheese, and pretzels.  In the bakery they got to decorate a cookie with their first initial. In the dairy section they got a bottle of milk.  They also got a protein bar, a toothbrush, and a gogurt.  Caden didn't even need lunch afterwards!  He also got to practice ringing things up at the register.

Teacher Appreciation Day

Caden's teacher appreciation gifts turned out so cute!

SeaLife Aquarium

We went to the Sealife Aquarium on Saturday.  Caden has been begging to go for awhile. so he had a lot of fun!

Date Night

Matt and I went to see Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers play for date night.  Anyone who knows me knows that I have been obsessed with these guys since I was a teenager.  It was so fun!!

Painting

Matt went to a painting class as a team building activity for his work.  He wasn't too excited about it since he's not really artistic, but his painting actually turned out really good.  No one believes that he painted it.  It even earned a spot hanging up in our bedroom.  

It's Naked Man!

Caden told me that naked man is also in charge of all of the other superheros.  He is so funny! :)

Play Date

We had Caden's friend Porter over for a play date because his mom was sick.  We made yellow slime, and the boys had fun hauling it around on the back of their trucks.

We celebrated with my family by going to Joe's BBQ and I also made this yummy dessert.  Who needs birthday cake when you can have cookies, reeses, and brownies!!?

Then on Sunday Matt's family came over to celebrate.
