Quack Quack Quack

If you ask Caden "What does a duck say?" He says "quack, quack, quack." It is the cutest thing that I have ever heard!

Cleaning

Caden got the duster out of the pantry, and he knew just what to do with it. I guess that he is taking after his mama. He's seen me do this a few too many times. Hmmmm maybe he is ready for some chores. :)

Camping

We went camping with my parents up on the Mogollon Rim near Woods Canyon Lake over the weekend. We stayed in my parents toy hauler which is the only way to go camping if you ask me! Our campsite was only like 30 ft. from the edge of the rim, and we had the most beautiful view. It was awesome just to get out of the heat. It actually rained quite a bit, and we had to wear our jackets. The rain did mess up our plans to make smores over the campfire, so we had to settle with smores from the microwave. They still tasted pretty good though.
The cutest camper ever!

Caden loved being outside and running around. It didn't take him long to get used to the uneven ground, and he had no problem getting around.

Matt and Caden checking out the awesome view from our campsite.

We went on a little hike.

All six of us. We couldn't forget to put Kandy in the picture!

Coolin' Off

Today we went to the mall with Josefine and Noah so that the boys could play on the splash pad.
Caden had a lot of fun playing in the water. I wasn't sure if he would like it, but he went right in no problem.

He was so cute running around.

It took Noah a little while, but he liked playing too.

Grilling Adventures

So we switched our SRP over to the time of use plan a couple of weeks ago, and we are supposed to cut back on our electricity usage from 1 pm to 8 pm during the summer. That means no laundry, no dishwasher, higher temp on the ac (We keep it at 8o degrees during off peak hours and 82 degrees during on peak hours. Except when we precool to 76 degrees from 11 am to 1 pm, so that the ac won't have to come on for a while after 1 pm. 11 am to 1 pm is my favorite part of the day, and I try to always be home then! :)), and no cooking with the oven. Due to not being able to use the oven we have been cooking on the grill a lot. (I use the term "we" loosely because really Matt does all of the cooking on the grill. I offered to do it, so that dinner can be ready when he gets home from work, but I was informed that it is the man's job.) I have to admit that I have been thoroughly impressed with Matt's grilling skills. We have gotten a little creative, and everything has turned out really good. Tonight we cooked crescent rolls on the grill (as pictured above.) We have also cooked egg rolls, french fries, and garlic bread. So, I have been wondering for the last couple of weeks if it is really worth all of the trouble. Well, the answer is yes! We just got our 1st bill, and it was $100 cheaper then last year and $50 cheaper then last month. Keep in mind that we've only been on the time of use plan for 2 weeks, so those savings may be doubled next month. I never thought that I would say this, but I am excited to get the next bill so I can see how much we've saved!

Watching Dad

Caden spent a long time watching Matt do the yardwork on Saturday. It was so cute.

Peter Piper

I think that Caden is going to like Peter Piper as much as his mom does! We went there on Thursday, and he had lots of fun checking everything out.
He looked very serious the whole time, but he seemed to enjoy this ride. Maybe he was concentrating on hanging on?

Caden with all of his tickets.

The big prize that he got was a Peter Piper football.

Just Playing In His Room

Caden likes to play in his room now. It is so cute!

So Yummy

Caden loves any kind of fruit! He even likes pineapple and oranges which I wasn't sure if he would eat or not. I think that the majority of his diet consists of fruit, but I am glad that it's something healthy.

Playing At the Mall

We took Caden to play at the San Tan Mall kids area for the 1st time on Saturday. He wasn't too interested in climbing on things, but he did like just walking around. I'm actually glad that he's not a climber! :)

The Best Deal Ever!

I went to CVS today, and I got all of this stuff for $5.09 out of pocket including tax The subtotal was $1.78, but they charge tax based on prices before coupons. Isn't that lame?). There are 6 mega packs of pampers diapers, 3 packs of wipes, 4 jars of Skippy Peanut Butter, 2 jars of Ragu spaghetti sauce, 2 cans of Del Monte Peas, and 2 boxes of Thermacare heat wraps. The best deal by far was the diapers. They were on clearance for $1.79 (down from $17.99!), so after coupons they cost me $.29 plus I had 3 coupons for free wipes if you bought a pack of diapers. According to my receipt I saved $157.30. Not too bad! I am so excited that I just had to share!

Goin' For A Ride

Caden got this bike seat for his birthday. We tried it out last night since it wasn't so hot out. He had lots of fun cruising around!

Caden's New Trick

Caden has been able to open the doors in our house for the past few weeks, but he would only try to open it when when I was in the bathroom or something. Well the past few day he realized that he can open any door any time. It was easy to lock the bathrooms, but there is no lock on the pantry and there are so many fun things in there to play with. Last night we had to go to Home Depot and buy a flip lock to attach to the top so that he can't open it anymore. Sorry Caden. The fun's over.

Yummy Plum

We were at my parents' house the other day and Caden grabbed a plum out of the fruit bowl and took a bite out of it. I never thought that he could eat it that way but what the heck, so I put him in the high chair and let him have the whole thing. It was so funny to see him eating bites out of it like a normal person, but he loved it and it kept him busy for a while.
