Almost Ready for Easter!

We are working on crawling so that Caden will be ready for the Easter egg hunt. Hopefully his cousins will be nice enough to leave a few on the ground! :) Do you think that he will be ready?

Cutest Baby Ever!

Horse Races!

Matt and I (and now Caden too!) went on our annual trip to see the horse races at Turf Paradise in west Phoenix. Matt likes to go, so we usually make the trek once a year. I won 3 out of 6 races and Matt was 0 and 6. I guess that there is always next year for him. Maybe Caden will be able to pick the winners.

Visit With Great Grandma

On Friday, Caden and I went to visit Grandma Shobe and bring her some free things that I have scored since she gives me her coupons. :) We were there during Caden's lunch time, but we didn't have a high chair. Grandma Shobe said that back in the day they used a dishtowel to tie the baby to a chair if they didn't have a high chair. It worked like a charm!

How Nice!

My visiting teacher sent me this really cute teething necklace. It's stylish and Caden loves it too. I was pleasantly surprised to find it in the mail today. Isn't that so nice!? It will come in handy, by the way, because Caden is finally getting teeth! The 2 on the bottom just started poking through a couple of days ago. I thought that he was never going to have teeth!

Basketball

Caden and I had fun watching Matt play another season of city league basketball. Matt's team came in 1st place in the league. Good Job!

It's not so easy to take a good picture indoors without the flash. (I got in trouble once for using the flash, so now I know better!)

Riding Around

Caden looks so cute sitting on this toy. He figured out that he can make it roll, but he only knows how to go backwards. :)

9 Months Old!

Caden is 9 months old today! He is so much fun, and we just love him to pieces! This month Caden started saying dada. I don't think that he knows what it means yet, but it's still cute to hear him say it. He has started eating more table foods, and I am still making baby food for him too. His favorite food is avocado, and he also loves chicken or hamburger. When he's on his stomach, he gets up on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth. Maybe he will be crawling soon, but he seems content just to cry when he can't reach what he wants. Caden loves to stand up, and he can pull himself up if he has something just the right height to hang on to. He gets really mad if you take something away from him. He holds on as tight as he can, and when you finally get it away from him he screams really loud. Caden loves the Johnny Jump Up, and he jumps high enough to get a little bit of air. I think that he practicing so that he can jump really high when he plays basketball in a few years. This month we switched him to a convertable car seat, so he is no longer in the infant carrier. Also he went on his first plane ride this month. He is still a good sleeper, and he likes to get up around 7 no matter what time that he goes to bed. We think that he is just the cutest baby ever!

Just Swinging Around

Today we went to the park and Caden went on the swings for the first time. He loved the swinging but wasn't too sure of the sun, so he kept his eyes closed when the sun was in his face. It was so funny.

Exercise

Here is Caden doing his cardio. He likes to do it at least twice a day to keep in shape. They should make these things for grown ups too!

Fun at the Park

Yesterday we had a bbq at the park with Janielle and Matthias, and some of Matthias' family. We had fun playing volleyball, and soon Caden will be running around on the play ground too!

Loving the Weather!

Today we went to visit Grandma Shobe (my Grandma Shobe which makes her Caden's Great Grandma Shobe). We loved sitting on her patio enjoying the awesome weather and the beautiful flowers in her yard!

California!

On Friday we went to California for a fun day trip and to do a little bit of shopping at the Ontario Mills mall. This was Caden's first flight, and he was so good!

Play Date

Today we went over to my friend Laura's, and Caden got to play with her little boy Jake. Caden had fun walking in this cute little car that Jake has. I'm not so sure that Jake was as excited to share his car though.

Big Boy Car Seat

We bought Caden's big boy car seat last week on sale, so I couldn't resist putting it in the car.

It looks quite comfy, and apparently Caden must think so too because he fell asleep in it today. I must say that it is much easier to lug around that heavy carrier then to take him out of the car seat every time that we go somewhere.

Caden Helped Me Open the Mail Today

We got lots of good stuff . . . a coupon for free 7th generation dish soap, a coupon for the cat food that we buy, a free sample of the Zone indulgence bar, and a sample of 3 free diapers! Plus no bills. No wonder he was so happy!

Silly!

Caden fell asleep holding on to this toy. I keep waiting for it to fall out of his hand, but he wouldn't let go. As soon as he woke up, he was playing with it again. If he is holding on to a toy and I try to take it away he has a fit! Sometimes I have to pry away his hand. He is really strong! I hope that he still stays a sweet little boy, and not a brat!

Tricked!

Now that Caden can feed himself, he pretty much refuses to eat baby food. I have a bunch of homemade baby food in my freezer, which I don't just want to throw out. I got these mesh feeders at my baby shower, but I was never really sure what to put in them. Well, a cube of frozen baby food fits perfectly, and he loves being able to feed it to himself. (It keeps him occupied for a little while too!) Now I've started freezing the baby food in chunks instead of pureeing it, so he can feed himself. He's already getting too big!
