"The Best Day Ever"

Caden and I rode our bikes to the park today, and he was delighted that the landscapers were replacing the rock across the street.  We sat at the top of the slide and watched them using the bobcats for a long time, and then he turned around and told me "This is the best day ever!"

Easter Egg Hunt!

We had our ward Easter egg hunt yesterday morning.  Ever since Caden has been carrying around his Easter basket and playing with the eggs.

Basketball

We signed Caden up for basketball again.  The first day was on Friday and when we got there Caden was the only one.  There were 3 other kids signed up, but they hadn't showed up.  We thought that Caden was getting private lessons for a little while, but then the other kids eventually showed up.  It's still a small class with only 4 kids though, so hopefully he can learn a lot.

Dream Come True!

Every year during March Madness Matt always wishes that he can stay home and watch basketball games all day. His wish came true this year since he works from home now!  He was very happy to sit on the couch with his laptop and watch basketball all day. Seriously it was like 12 hours of basketball on Thursday.

Overcoming Fear

Caden has always been so scared of this slide at the playground in my parents neighborhood.  I don't really blame him because it is really tall and fast!  Plus he usually tends to be on the cautious side, so he always refused to go down it.  Well he finally conquered his fear, and he loved it!  Afterwards he kept going down over and over.  (He made sure that all of the adults had a turn too!)

Truck Races

On Friday we went to the truck races at Firebird International Raceway.  It was actually just a practice day, so there wasn't really any real racing going on.  We did get in free though, and it was cool to check out all of the trucks.

Austin and Carter came with us, and here are the boys posing in front of a huge truck.  I think that it is Caden's dream to have one of these some day.  He always tells me that when he is bigger he is going to drive a really big truck.

The trucks were fun to watch, and they even got some air.  We thought that Caden might not like the noise, but he was super excited about everything.

It was also super hot, so we stood in the shade under the bleachers between races.

Feeding the Ducks!

The ducks were actually pretty lame and must be overfed because they weren't really interested in eating.  We did get to enjoy the nice weather though! :)

The Garbage

Caden was mad at me a few days ago, and he told me that he was going to put me in the garbage so the garbage man can take me away. Then he will get a new mommy.

Then the next night I was putting him to bed and this is how the conversation went.
Caden: You can't go to outer space because I will miss you too much, and then you
will have to fall down to our house.
Me: Does that mean that you don't want to put me in the garbage anymore?
Caden: No.  You've haven't been making bad choices and that makes me really happy.

Last night he told me that if the bad guys put me in the garbage he would go to the garbage man's house and save me.  Then he wanted to know where the garbage man lives.

I guess that I have redeemed myself.

Ostrich Festival!

We went to the Ostrich Festival today!  It was a little chilly, but definitely better then too hot.  Plus there weren't too many people there either.  We tried to go last year, and we couldn't even get a parking spot!
The Ostrich races were pretty funny.  I guess that I didn't know that people rode on the Ostrich.  It was even funnier that most of the racers didn't stay on very long either.

Riding on the pony was Caden's favorite part of the day.  He did have to watch and make sure that they didn't go too fast before he agreed to ride on them though.

There was a petting zoo with tons of goats, but also some pretty crazy big cattle with huge horns.  They were all friendly though, and the big ones liked being petted the most.

Caden was super excited to check out the fire truck.

The fireman even let him turn on the siren which was pretty cool for him!

A kid from our Sunday School class at church was playing with his band, so we decided to check them out.  They are called The Semester Review, and they were pretty good.  Kind of reminded me of Blink 182.  Caden kept standing up and dancing which was pretty cute!

We also rode on a few rides.  Caden didn't really like this Caterpillar one very much because it was a little roller coaster.  I did convince him to put his arms up in the air and scream, but I'm pretty sure that it was a scared for his life kind of scream.

He did have fun driving the car,

and he loved riding in the boat.  He also went on the Ferris Wheel with Matt which I didn't get a picture of, but he told me that it was his favorite ride.

The Zoo!

Last Saturday we went to the Zoo again, and Noah came along too!  Caden really liked having someone to run around with!
