Zoo Lights

We went to Zoo Lights at the Phoenix Zoo last night, and we had so much fun.  It was a little chilly but definitely not freezing, and Caden was so excited about all the lights.  His new favorite phrase is "oh my gosh!" and we heard that several times while we were there.

You probably only see scorpion Christmas light in Arizona!

Caden kept saying that he wanted to ride the camel, and I thought that he would probably chicken out last minute.  I was wrong though.  As soon as it was over he was begging to go again.

Pee Pee in the Potty

Caden peed in the potty for the first time today!  We've been trying for awhile, but he always just sits there for a few minutes and then wants to get down.  Here he is holding his reward.  I don't think that the incentive is going to be so good the next time! :)

Mischeviousness

So I was walking down the hall in my house to get Caden for dinner when I stepped into a puddle of water. When I looked down I realized that there was water running out from under the bathroom door. I rushed over to open the door and it was locked. I finally got the door open and Caden was sitting on top of the counter playing in the water with both faucets running. Not only was the water running but he had put toilet paper in both of the sinks which plugged them up. He was soaking wet not to mention the huge puddle inside the cabinets, on the floor in the bathroom and in the hall, and the carpet in the bedroom right across the hall was starting to get wet. Apparently I need to keep a better eye on him.

San Tan Mall

We went to San Tan mall last night to check out he Christmas festivities.  We were excited about the "snow" which turned out to be really lame.  It was basically like soap bubbles or something flying around and in no way resembled snow.
We also went on a horse drawn carriage ride which was pretty fun. We felt like celebrities or something with everyone watching and waving at us.

Mesa Temple Lights!

Time Out

I went in Caden's room today and I found the gingerbread man ornament in the corner.  Caden told me that he was in time out.  It totally cracked me up.

Christmas Decorations!

Caden loved decorating the Christmas tree.  As soon as I opened the box with the decorations Caden picked up the biggest glass ball, and threw it across the floor when I tried to get it from him.  After that we were careful to only let him touch the non breakable ones and put all of the others really high up on the tree, so hopefully there won't be anymore casualties this year.  He really enjoyed putting them on the tree though, and all of the ones bunched together on the bottom are Caden's doing.  I can only hope that the ornaments stay on the tree.

We also put up the lights on the outside which was quite the ordeal this year.  We had to buy some new lights this year since some of the old ones broke.  It kind of messed up our usual plan, so Matt ended up having to take them down and move them.  After he got them up for the second time, they wouldn't work because there were too many strands hooked together.  I guess that it was good that they wouldn't let us make a fire hazard.  We ended up just buying all new LED lights because tons of strands can be hooked together with no problem.  So although it took 3 tries the lights finally ending up looking awesome.

Scary Times

Our house was broken into last Friday.  They broke the glass in the french door in our bedroom and came in.  Luckily we weren't home, but we think that only missed them by a few minutes.  When we got home at 6:15pm they were gone, and had dropped a bunch of stuff in the street.  My neighbor told me that when they went out to dinner at 6pm there wasn't anything in the street.  The main things that  they took were my passport, my social security card, some of my Coach purses, and my jewelry box that had a few valuable necklaces and rings.  They dumped our dirty clothes out of our laundry basket and must've used it to carry everything.  They also stole a quilt off of my quilt rack which I assume they used to cover everything up.  That and the fact that they dropped stuff in the street makes me think that they were on foot and possibly live in the neighborhood.  Really the worst part is just feeling violated having strangers in our house and not feeling safe anymore.  We ended up putting in a security system, so I feel a little better now.  It's really sad how people can do stuff like that.

Look What I Made

It's a growth chart for Caden, and it's supposed to look like a ruler.  This was my first attempt at staining wood, so maybe it could've been a little more even.  Overall I think that it turned out pretty cute though.

Family Pics

We took some family pictures while Sarah was in town. Here are a few of my favorites.
