We're Going To Be Famous!

We were picked to be in a commercial for SRP about the time of use plan since we saved a lot of money on that plan last year.  We did a few different takes.  Our lines were "Hi we're the Mendoncas and we're SRP customers. Last year we saved $164."  Then we said how much that we saved a couple of specific months too.  I was a little nervous about the whole thing, so it was hard to act natural.  The director kept telling us to be more enthusiastic, but then we just felt dumb.  Caden wasn't very cooperative, so we ended filming a bunch without him.  I doubt that he will make it into the commercial.  It's supposed to air around April, so hopefully we don't look too silly!

Here was Matt getting his makeup done.  For me she actually did makeup on my entire face, and it was kind of fun.

Here is Caden getting his makeup done.  He was being really shy, and wouldn't even look at her.

This is where we recorded.

They gave us a gift basket for being in the commercial.  It had some funny things like a programmable thermostat, a light bulb, a book about SRP and the Roosevelt Dam, and a kilowatt measurer.  I was hoping to get a discount on our bill!

Love these pictures!  They remind me of my brother Mikey.

Caden & Kandy

Caden and Kandy went for a little stroll in the wagon today.  At first I thought that Kandy liked it, but I think that she was actually too scared to get out.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Caden helped me make the cake, and yes he did dip the mixer back into the cake mix before I could stop him. The germs all get cooked out right?

Caden begged me all day to open the present and grandma was nice enough to let him help.

I didn't have the right candle numbers, but close enough right? ;)

Still The Baby

Caden decided that he likes playing with the exersaucer again.

Just Because

I missed this cute boy while I was gone.  He loves to play with his cars!

Baby Madelyn

My sister Sarah had her baby on January 5th.  They named her Madelyn Page LeSueur.  She was a little tiny baby at 6 lbs 4 oz and 19 inches, and she looks exactly like Max did as a baby.  Sarah went in to be induced at 10 pm on January 4th.  After the nurse broke her water the next morning Sarah went from 3 cm dilated to 10 cm dilated in 17 minutes!  We were all surprised that she came so fast.  My parents went to Texas on the 4th, so that they could watch Max while Sarah had the baby.  I was planning on going to visit a little later, but after she was born I wished that I could be there.  I ended up buying a plane ticket to fly there that evening and I drove back with my parents.  We are so excited that she is here!

We stopped at the hospital after my parents picked me up at the airport, so I got to see Madelyn on the day that she was born!

Madelyn had jaundice, so she had to hang out under the blue lights.  They ended up staying in the hospital an extra day because of the jaundice.  It was so sad to not be able to hold her, but she actually seemed to like the lights.

Madelyn and Grandma.

She was so content to be dressed and snuggled up in a blanket after she got home!

We also had fun hanging out with Max!  It did make me miss my little Caden though.  He stayed home with Matt, and it was the longest that I have been away from him.

Max was clapping because he approved of his drink. :)

Snow!

The day after Christmas we went to Show Low to play in the snow!  We rented a cabin with the Owen's family, and stayed two nights.  We had so much fun!  It was Caden's first time in snow and he loved it.  The weather ended up being pretty good.  It had snowed a few days earlier, but it was actually pretty warm with highs in the 50s.

The boys without their shirts because we were eating spaghetti.

The kids (and Matt!) couldn't wait to get out and play in the snow.  Even though it was getting dark, when we got there, they went out and made this cute snowman.  It actually lasted the whole time that we were there, at least until Caden knocked the head off, but the body was still standing.

Ashlyn, Hadley, and Caden coloring.  Caden had so much fun playing with his cousins.  They are all so nice to him, and he loved being with them.

We also went sledding!  This is Austin going down the hill.

Matt and Ashlyn

Here is Caden all decked out in his snow gear.

Me and Ashlyn.  This was my first time sledding ever, so I was a little bit nervous.  It ended up being so much fun!

Matt and Caden going down the hill.  Unfortunately Caden was a little scared, and didn't seem to enjoy the sledding much.  Maybe it will be funner when he gets a bit bigger.

My two cute boys!
