Mission Beach

We went on a family vacation to San Diego with all of my family including my parents, my brother and his girlfriend, and my sister and her family who live in Texas.  Matt said that it reminded him of the Griswold family vacation movies, and I'll admit that everyone didn't always want to do the same things.  We still had a lot of fun though, and it was definitely nice to get out of the heat (although 76 degrees does feel hot when you're out in the sun all day!).  I also have to say that I'm not quite used to driving so far since we got to fly for free for so long.  I am definitely missing that perk from US Airways!

This first day of vacation we went to Mission Beach.  Caden didn't want to swim since the water was freezing, but he liked playing in the sand.  Here he is playing with Christina.

My mom, Max, and Caden playing in the sand some more.

Sarah, Madelyn, and my mom.

Our little family

Mikey and Christina.

Steve and Max.  Max loved the water and he was not scared at all!

Hair Cut

Matt usually cuts Caden's hair himself, so Caden had his first paid for hair cut on Friday.  Great Clips was having a really good sale plus it's always such a fight when we cut his hair at home.  He was way better at Great Clips then at home!  I do have to say that the hair cut wasn't really much better then when Matt does it though.

Caden's Pictures

This is what I did with Caden's new pictures.  I think that it turned out so cute!  Caden told Matt that he loves the big picture of him, and that it made him so happy.  That kid cracks me up!

Rain!

We enjoyed having some much needed rain a few days last week! (but not so much the accompanying humidity!)  On Saturday afternoon it was super windy and pouring rain.  When we went out afterwards we found flooded streets and many broken trees.  We had to navigate this obstacle course to get into the parking lot at Outback!

Visit From the LeSueurs

Sarah, Steve, Max, and Madelyn were here visiting for a couple of days.  My camera battery died, so I only got a few pictures to post. :(  The first day we went swimming at Basha Pool and then the second day we went to Bounce U.  The boys were so cute playing together as always.  It's surprising how well that they get along considering that Caden doesn't seem to get along that well with other 3 year old most of the time.

This is my favorite picture.  I couldn't believe how big that Madelyn is!  She is such a doll too!

My mom always likes to get the boys matching outfits.  I can't decide if it's cute or embarrassing.  I'm sure that people must think that they are fraternal twins or something.

Caden's 3 Year Pictures

So we got Caden's 3 year pictures taken a couple of weeks ago, and they turned out so cute!  Here are a few of my favorites (yes I know that there are a lot of pictures here, but I had 124 to pick from!) and a few that made me laugh because Caden was being silly.  If you want to see all of the pictures you can go here. If you open the link you can like them on Facebook, and maybe you can help me decide which ones are the best!

Caden Dancing

Caden likes to dance and he does it wherever we go.  Matt recorded some videos on his phone and decided to put them all together.

The Boss

So my sister-in-law keeps telling me that Caden is the boss at our house, and well I hate to admit that I think she's right.  The other day Carrot (our cat) was licking the faucet in the kitchen to try and get some water. (I'm not really sure why he does that since he always has fresh water.)  When I yelled at him to get down he gave me a dirty look and went back to licking.  Caden decided to handle things himself, and as soon as he yelled Carrot got right down and ran away to hide.  I wish that I had that much authority around here!

Happy 4th of July

We celebrated the 4th by doing some swimming in the rain (you gotta love rain in the middle of the day in July in Arizona!) and watching fireworks.  There is a huge church near our house that had a free fireworks show, so we rode our bikes to a nearby neighborhood for front row seats.  Caden loved the fireworks.  He was so excited to see them!  Matt was itching to buy some fireworks to set off ourselves since we've not done that since they've become legal.  I thought that it was going to be pretty lame, but it actually turned out to be pretty fun.  We got these fire truck fireworks that make the truck drive on it's own.  Those were pretty cute.  We also got some called Tasmanian Devils that shoot out these things at you.  I have to say that they gave us a little scare the first time.  Happy 4th of July!

Go Dbacks!

Matt had bought some coupons for Dbacks tickets from some sort of fundraiser, so we took Matt's dad with us to the game on Monday.  The seats were pretty good- near home plate in the first row of the upper level.  It was actually a little scary to sit in the front row because is a really far drop to the next level.  There was this waist height guardrail with slats made of cable.  They worked perfectly as stairs so we had to keep  close eye on Caden.  I'm pretty sure that the Dbacks lose every time that we go, so we must be bad luck or something since they lost to the Padres who are like the worst team in the league.

Caden's full leg tattoo.  This is actually just a sleeve that's supposed to fit on your arm,  but was way too big for Caden's arm.  It's the same tattoos that Ryan Roberts (Dback player) has on his arm.
