Espee Park

Caden and I went with Josefine, Noah, and Delilah to Espee park so that the boys could play at the splash pad.  It's getting too hot for the regular park, so we thought that the water would be fun.  It took Caden a little while to warm up to it because he just wanted to swing.  After awhile he had fun though, and he cried when it was time to go home.  I would've been mad if we drove over there, and he didn't play in the water at all!  It was still hot for Josefine and I though.  Next time we will probably just play at the splash pad at San Tan mall since they have shade for the mommies!

He likes to wear flowers in his hair, 

walk in high heels, 

and carry a purse! (He really does call it his purse too.)

Sea World

On Saturday we went to Sea World.  It was really the perfect place to go with Caden.  He loved all of the shows!

They had a fun Sesame Street area with the perfect rides for Caden.  Matt was lucky to get to go with him since the spinney rides make me sick! 

We loved the dolphin show and actually ended up watching it twice! 

 Of course we had to see the Shamu show too.  They are really amazing animals.

We saw the Clyde and Seamore show which is very funny! 

They had some big scary sharks. 

These penguins were so huge I don't know how they even walked! 

 The Polar Bear



The Beluga Whales are so pretty and peaceful to watch. 

We saw a showed called Pets Rule.  Sea World adopts animals from the humane society and trains them to perform in the show.  It was really fun.

The whole time we were there Caden was dying to go jump.  There was always a line, so we just ended up waiting, and they are only allowed to jump for 2 minutes.  When the two minutes was up the lady would yell "times up", and all of the kids would come out.  Well all of the kids except for Caden that is.  He went further away, and would not come out.  I had to go in and get him.  It was so embarrassing! 

We fed the Sea Lions these gross little fish, and the birds stole them out of our hands just like I remembered from when I came as a kid. 

We saw a 4D Sesame Street movie that Caden enjoyed even though he wouldn't leave the glasses on.  The 4th dimension is touch, so we got sprayed with water and felt wind blowing. 

We also saw the night Shamu show called "Shamu Rocks" and they played music during the show.  It was all dark, and it was fun because the crowd was pretty rowdy.

Seaport Village

We went to Seaport Village because we thought that it would be fun to see all of the boats.

Caden was really excited to see the big boats! 

There was a Sea Lion just hanging out on one of the boat docks. 

There was also a huge Navy ship there called The USS Midway.  It's usually open for tours, but we were too late.  It cost $18 a person, so I really wasn't too upset about that anyways.

Of course Caden had to ride the merry go round as soon as he saw it.  The merry go round was actually over 100 years old.  It has been moved around lots of places, but has been in Seaport Village since 2004.  I thought that was very interesting.

The Hotel

This was Caden's first time staying in an actual hotel because we have always stayed in condos with him.  He was prepared with his hammer while he was sleeping in the event of a break in.  Actually he was pretty good and liked sleeping in the "white bed" as he called it.  When we got home he cried because he wanted to back and sleep in the white bed.

The San Diego Zoo

Matt had to go to San Diego for work, so Caden and I came along to make a vacation out of it.  While Matt was working Caden and I went to the San Diego Zoo.  We had so much fun!  Caden was so good.  He walked the whole time! 

 Riding the tour bus was included in the admission which I was so glad about because the zoo is huge!  We really enjoyed the tour.  It goes through 70% of the zoo, and we really got to see some of the animals close up since it mostly goes around the backs of the cages.



The Lion that we saw sleeping on the rock during our tour.  Isn't she so cute!?  She looks like a little bigger version of Carrot. 

Caden thought that the elephant was hilarious because it kept blowing its food up into the air. 

He also liked the Rhinos. 

We also got to ride the sky tram for free.  It was an awesome view up there, and it went directly to the back of the zoo, so we could go back there without having to do too much walking.

The polar bear was taking a nap.  When we drove by on the tour bus he was swimming around in the water, so I guess that it tired him out. 

The Panda Bears were a little secluded, and we had to wait in a huge line to be able to see them.  It was a little disappointing that they were sleeping.

Caden kept telling me that he wanted to see the orangutans.  It was so cute to hear him say orangutan.  They were really friendly playing on the ropes and coming right up to the glass.  

My Helpers

Matt and I got new callings as Sunday School teachers and we are teaching the 16 and 17 year olds.  I am excited that we get to teach together, but a little nervous about teaching teenagers especially when our roster shows 19 kids.  I guess that it will probably be good for me hence the reason for the calling.  When I was preparing my lesson on Saturday Duke and Carrot were laying right next to me, and I thought that it would be a cute picture.

Visit From Max

Steve came to Arizona for his brother's sealing in the Snowflake Temple for the weekend and he left Max at my parents house.  Sarah and Madelyn stayed home, but we wished that we could've seen them too!  Max and Caden had fun together all day Saturday. 

First we went to play soccer, but as you can see they weren't really interested in playing much soccer.  They are so cute together though.  No we didn't dress them the same on purpose.  They have a lot of the same clothes though, and I had feeling that was going to happen.

Then we played at the park which is Max's favorite thing to do.  He loved playing on everything.  Caden isn't so adventurous and mostly just went down the slide and played in the sand.  Max wasn't scared of anything though.

Max brought Caden's birthday present which I'm pretty sure we were supposed to save until his birthday, but Max was really excited for him to open it. 

Then they fought over it the rest of the time.  Caden wouldn't let anyone touch it.  We are still working on sharing!
