Summer Movie
We bought passes for the Harkins Summer Movie again this year. We get to watch a kids movie every week for 10 weeks. The movies are mostly kids movies that have been released in the past year. Caden loves to go to the movies! We bought an extra pass because we like to bring someone with us every week, and this week we brought Grandma Nancy.
Glowing Milk
We also made this glowing milk experiment using a blacklight.
First you add a little bit of milk to a pie tin. Then you take glow paint and mix it with water until it is a water like consistency.
Using a syringe Caden squirted the different colors of paint into the milk.
Then you dip a Q tip in dish soap and hold it in the middle of the pan. All of the paint pulls away from the middle and goes to the sides of the pie tin.
Making Crystals
Caden and I used a really simple recipe to make crystals. First you measure out 1/2 cup of epsom salts into a glass container. Then heat up 1/2 cup of water in the microwave for 45 seconds. Add the food coloring of your choice to the water and then mix with the epsom salts for 2 minutes. After the two minutes you put it in the freezer for 10 minutes, and then into the fridge overnight.
They came out of the fridge looking like this, and then you just have to drain the excess liquid out.
Here is the finished product.
Preschool Party!
Some of the moms from Caden's preschool class set up and end of year party for all of the kids to get together. We went to the park and splash pad at Layton Lakes. Everyone brought some food or drinks to share. One of the mom's passed out these cute graduation certificates to all of the kids since they didn't get anything from the school. We both made some really good friends from his class and their moms. I am sorry to see the school year end!
Homemade Salsa
I made salsa using some tomatoes and jalapenos from out garden. It was pretty good, but I think that it could've used a little less onion. Here is the recipe I used:
8 tomatoes
2 onions (I think I'll use one next time)
Bunch of cilantro
2 to 4 Jalapenos
garlic
1/2 tsp salt
Juice from 2 limes
I don't like my salsa chunky, so I just cut everything up and stuck in my blender.

Birthday Countdown
Caden kept asking how many days until his birthday, so we made this countdown chain. It has worked like a charm!
Preschool Graduation
Caden is all done with preschool, and he will be starting Kindergarten in the fall. It makes me so sad to think of him going to school all day! I am so thankful for wonderful friends that Caden and I both made with his classmates and their moms!
Caden with his teachers Ms Montes and Ms Barkett
They did a cute presentation and sang some songs for us. Caden loved the peanut butter and jelly song.
These is Caden and his best buds from school. Porter, Nitish, and Tegan.
The kids autographed papers for each other.
Sleepover!
We had a sleepover with 4 of Caden's cousins. Caden loves to have his cousins over! Addysen is only 2 months old and she slept from 9pm to 6:30am!
They all wanted to hold the baby, so I had to take a picture with each of taking a turn.
Nobody wanted to wear shirts to bed.
