Birthday Party!

We had a joint birthday party for Caden, Noah, and Cannon on Saturday since all of their birthdays fall in the same week. Caden and Noah turned four and Cannon turned three.  We  had some fun swimming at the Power Ranch Pool and eating pizza and cupcakes!

Excited to eat his cupcake!

The birthday boys

The craziness of three kids opening presents at the same time!

Summer Movie

(I know that this picture is awful, but it's the best one that I could get. )We have been going to the Harkin's Summer Movie on Friday mornings.  It only cost $7 for 10 movies, so it's a great deal!  Caden really enjoys going to the movies.  We got an extra ticket, so that we can bring people along.  Last week Grandma Nancy came and this week Noah came with us.

Swimming Lessons

Caden has been taking swimming lessons at Perry Pool for the past four weeks.  He is almost done with his 2nd session.  Each session is 2 weeks and lessons are everyday Monday through Thursday. I can't believe how good that he is doing!  He can actually swim now!  We still have to watch him close and help him a little, but he can swim a little ways.  He can also swim to the side by himself which makes me feel a lot more comfortable.   I am so proud of him!

Science and Art Class

We signed Caden up for a science and art class through the Town of Gilbert Parks and Rec just because we are trying to stay busy this summer and not be bored.  I was also worried that he would miss school a lot because he loved going so much.  So far we've only been to 2 classes but it has been fun and very messy.  (I wasn't really prepared for the messiness the first week, but I came prepared this week!)

The first week they painted using fruit and vegetables.  They painted with watermelon, corn, and lemon.  They also painted with kool aid.

They also made "ice cream" by mixing cornstarch and conditioner.

I didn't take any more pictures this week, but they did a little science experiment by mixing water and oil and then adding other ingredients such as salt, sugar, and artificial sweetener to see what would happen.  They also made gak by mixing glue with liquid starch, and then they got to play with it and color on it to make it different colors.  It has been really fun for Caden!

Swimming!

We have had so much fun doing a lot of swimming so far this summer.  I've even got some tans lines to show for it!  This picture was taken at Matt's dad's house, and we were swimming with The Cole's.  We've also been swimming a lot at the pool in Power Ranch and at Mesquite Groves pool.

11 Years!

Matt and I celebrated our 11the anniversary this year.  It's crazy how time flies!  We usually like to go on a trip together instead of buying gifts, and this year we went to Las Vegas.  We stayed at the Stratosphere because it was super cheap, but the trade off was that we got to do more stuff.  One night we went out to dinner at Capital Grill (Yum!), and we saw the Cirque Du Soleil show at Treasure Island.  We had so much fun!  Caden stayed at my parents house, and I guess that he had fun too because he has been begging to spend the night there again ever since.

Muffins For Mom

Caden's preschool had all of the mom's come for muffins right before mother's day.  The kids were so cute and sang us some songs.  I took a video of it, but I can't get it to download on the blog. :(  He also made me a this really cute apron.  The flowers are made from his hand prints and the bees and ladybugs are made from his fingerprints.  I think that it is too cute to use.  I would hate to stain it!

Visit From the LeSueurs

Caden was super excited for Sarah and her family to come and visit this week because he got to play with Max!  We had fun hanging out and swimming at Basha Pool.  Max also slept over at our house one night, and both boys stayed in bed all night!  If you know either of them then you know that is a miracle because they are both always getting up at night.  I was really bad about taking pictures, but we couldn't believe how big that Madelyn is getting.  She didn't even seem like the same person as the last time that we saw her, and she loved following the boys around.  We wish that they lived closer!

Happy 34th Birthday Matt!

We celebrated Matt's birthday this week too!  He usually makes fun of me for having a birthday week instead of just a birthday, but he got a birthday week this year too.  We celebrated on his actual birthday by going to Joe's Farm Grill for lunch.  It's free on your birthday, and so good!  He wanted to go to Joe's Barbecue for dinner because it's also free on your birthday, but we were still full from lunch.  Instead we went there and got root beer floats and a brownie.  You can never go wrong with dessert!  Then on Sunday we celebrated with Matt's family, and on Tuesday we celebrated with my family.  Happy Birthday!!

Father Son Campout

Matt and Caden went to the father son camp out for the first time.  They got to try out our new tent that we got on black Friday.  I guess that the 6 person tent was much bigger then expected.  They had fun eating junk food by the campfire.  Caden slept great, but Matt said that he was freezing and couldn't sleep.  It was 30 degrees outside!  He finally had to get in the car and turn o the heater to warm up his toes.  Maybe next year they will just sleep in the car!  I thought that I would enjoy a whole night to myself, but I was actually kind of bored.  I did get a pedicure though which was awesome!
