New Bed!

So when I first got married I was excited to be able to share a bed with Matt because I was a newlywed and in love. :)  Our first bed was a queen size bed because that was all that we had room for, but it was big enough.  A few years later Matt started working at US Airways, so we were traveling much more and staying in hotels with nice big king size beds.  I have to admit that it was pretty nice to have all that space and not have to touch anyone while I was sleeping.  The queen size bed was still adequate though.  Well then Caden came along.  At first he never slept in the bed with us, but after he switched to his big boy bed it was just easier to put him in my bed when he came in my room in the middle of the night then get up and put him back in his.  The queen size bed was no longer adequate.  We decided that it was time for an upgrade.  We went out this weekend hoping to order the bed that matched our bedroom set in a king size instead of replacing the whole set.  I was not surprised to find that they no longer sell our bedroom set.  We were lucky to have a helpful salesman that had a king size bed in the clearance section that was exactly the right color and pretty close in style.  That's right I said in the clearance section.  How could we pass that up?   Apparently I must be sleeping really well in the new bed because Matt told me that Caden came in our room on Saturday night and came over to my side of the bed and stared at me, but I never woke up.   We've been better about putting Caden back in his own bed at night.  That means that although I am still in love (just not a newlywed) I have a whole half of a king size bed all to myself, and I am very much enjoying it.

Just Driving the Car

Caden thought that it was pretty fun to drive the car.

He had to adjust the radio to the correct volume. (Which was really loud by the way!)  Maybe he should concentrate more on the driving and less on the radio.  At least until he gets a little better at it.

"Here it Comes!"

Caden loves all trucks including the garbage truck.  Every Friday and Monday when he hears the garbage truck or the recycling truck he watches out the window and says, "Here it comes! Here it comes!"  It is so cute.  He'll seriously stay up there for like 20 minutes trying to see the garbage truck.

Surprise Party!

Matt threw me a surprise party for my 30th birthday on Saturday.  I was totally surprised.  Matt and I were out running errands and when we got back everyone had come early to decorate and hide. They all parked around the corner, so I didn't see their cars. They scared me to death when they all jumped out.  Matt grilled steak and chicken and we had some yummy cake of course.  It was really fun.  Thank you to everyone!

Loving the Weather!

We have been loving the cooler weather around here the last week or so.  We've had the windows open in the house, and we've been playing outside!  Caden loves going to play at Tumbleweed Park.

Funny Story

When I got out of the shower today Caden was opening the drawers in the coffee table and standing in them, so I made him get out and close them.  Then he said to me "Bye mama. Bye mama."  Apparently he wanted me to leave because then he went to my bedroom and said "In room. In room." I guess he thought that I didn't understand because then he said "Get in there. Get in there." and pointed in the room.  I decided to listen to him because I was a little curious of what he was going to do.  When I went in the room he said "Thank you," (at least he is polite!), and then he proceeded to lock the door and shut it. (As I side note I have never locked him in his room, so I'm not sure where he got that idea from.)  Then he went back to playing with the drawers in the coffee table.  Seriously, what am I going to do with this kid?

Who Knew that Quiet is a Bad Thing?

When the house is quiet, and it's not nap time, I know that Caden is up to no good.  This is what I found him doing today.  At least it's just eyeliner so it wiped off easily.  By the way,  there is really no such thing as a child proofed house.  Caden can always finds something to get in to, and if I put it up high he just finds a way to climb up and get it.  He even locks the door when he knows that he is doing something that he isn't supposed to.

Jumpstreet

We met up with Josefine, Noah, and Delilah yesterday at Jumpstreet for some fun jumping.

The boys had fun playing together, and were running around wild as usual.

The jumping is supposed to be for the kids, but the mamas had a little bit of fun too.

Delilah was happy just hanging out.

Matt's Office

Matt and I went and decorated his office today since it was looking a little bare and boring.

The pictures on the back wall are ones that we took on some of the trips that we have been on.  I must admit that I am pretty impressed with how all of the picture frames came together.  I did that all by myself, and it wasn't very easy to make them all line up.

Matt wanted a sports theme for the rest of the pictures, and I searched everywhere for artwork.  It was either way too cheesy or way too expensive.  When I was ordering the other pictures I saw that Costco.com had a picture gallery with free pictures.  I only had to pay for the cost of the print. I was so excited because there were some really good pictures to choose from.  I bought the frames on clearance at Michael's.  They were white, which wouldn't have gone well with the walls, so I spray painted them black.  I thought that they all turned out really nice.

Here is what Matt looks like when he is working. (Except dressed a little nicer!)

I couldn't resist a picture on the bright green Cricket couch in the break room.
