Mesa Temple Lights

On Tuesday night we went to see the Mesa Temple Lights.  I love going there!

Caden's Christmas Program at School

Caden's preschool rented out the Higley Center for Performing Arts for the kids Christmas program.  The kids sang Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Feliz Navidad, and Ruldolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.  Caden did some of the motions for the songs, but he didn't really sing much.  He was still the cutest one up there though!

 

The Zoo Again!

Sarah and her family were here all last week, so we did lots of fun things with the kids!  On Monday we went to the zoo.  It was so fun!  All of the animals were out and active.  It was a little chilly, but it felt good to be outside!

 

The boys had fun climbing up the stairs to see the giraffes up close.

 

This is what happened when my mom was trying to get a picture taken with all of the kids.  The boys are too busy to slow down for a picture!  This picture was taken in front of the Cheetah exhibit.  I'm pretty sure that in all of the times that I went to the zoo (since I was a little kid!)  I never saw the Cheetahs. They must've have really good hiding spots in that exhibit, so I was  completely surprised to see the Cheetahs walking around right at the front of the exhibit.  I think that it must've been feeding time because they perked up when they heard a golf cart drive by.   

This monkey sat right at the window, and let us take a bunch of pictures with him.  It was like he was posing for us. 

The Tiger was also prowling about.  It even came over and roared at the boys.  It didn't sound like a friendly roar either!

Treasure Chest

Caden is always so excited to pick a prize out of the treasure chest for being good at school, and this week he picked out a black necklace.  He's been wearing it proudly ever since.  He cracks me up sometimes.

Zoo Lights!

We went to Zoo Lights last night with the Wilhelms.  

 

 I love this huge tree right at the entrance.  It looks so cool!

There was also this talking giraffe that kept the kids entertained for a long time.  It actually had a person talking behind it because he interacted with the kids.  It was so funny because the kids thought it was real, and they were a little scared to get too close.

Santa!

 We took Caden to Bass Pro Shop to get his picture with Santa Claus.  He seemed a little nervous, but was brave enough to smile for the picture! :)

 



There were also some other fun things to do there.  Caden practiced his shooting. 

He knocked down the ducks with a sling shot, 

and he rode on the carousel. 

Santan Mall

We decided to check out some of the Christmas festivities at Santan Mall on Saturday night.  We were actually thinking that it was going to be crazy busy, but really it wasn't too bad.  I guess that we went early enough in December.  Caden had tons of fun.  I love how he is so excited for everything Christmas!

 

We went on a horse drawn carriage ride. 

There is a light show that is set to Christmas music. 

We also got to meet Mrs. Claus, and go to her story time.  Caden was a little nervous about getting too close to Mrs. Claus. 

After the story Mrs. Claus had singing time, and Caden was picked to go up and shake the bells.  He was really excited about that! 

They also had "snow" fall, and I use the term snow very loosely because it was more like soap and nothing like snow.  Caden thought that it was cool though.

Christmas is Here!



I'm just now getting around to posting it, but we put up all of our Christmas decorations on the day after Thanksgiving.  We actually ending up having to buy a new tree this year because when we plugged in the old one half of the lights didn't work.  I was excited to get a new bigger tree, but it was a little sad too.  We had the old one for nine years, so I guess that I am a little nostalgic about it. 

 

This was the first year that Caden was really excited about helping with the ornaments. 

Here is the final product, and the cats are always happy when the Christmas tree is up! 

Caden thinks that he is a cat too.

Fun at the Park

Caden and I went to Discovery Park, near our house to feed the ducks on Monday.  As soon as we got close to the water the ducks started flocking over to us.  They were even pretty brave and got out of the water to eat the food that he dropped on the sidewalk.

Caden also had fun on the swings.  He was mad because I stopped pushing him to take a picture.

Later Caden told me that this was his favorite part of the park.
